The Knowledge Areas Are a System, Not a Checklist

Integration management sits at the center of the knowledge area system. Its processes — Develop Project Charter, Develop Project Management Plan, Direct and Manage Project Work, Manage Project Knowledge, Monitor and Control Project Work, Perform Integrated Change Control, and Close Project or Phase — coordinate the activities across all other knowledge areas.
The project management plan, a primary output of integration management, is not a single document but a collection of subsidiary plans from each knowledge area — the scope management plan, schedule management plan, cost management plan, and so on. Integration management ensures these subsidiary plans are consistent with each other and collectively achieve the project's objectives.
When the PMP exam asks about the project management plan, it is testing your understanding that these subsidiary plans must be internally consistent. Quality Connects to Everything
Quality management connects to scope through requirements definition and validation — scope defines what quality standards must be met. Scope management requires stakeholder input for requirements. Schedule management requires stakeholder agreement on milestones and deadlines.
